Yes, all dealers in our network have been verified for Chamber of Commerce registration, RDW recognition and financial reliability. We only work with parties that meet our strict quality standards.

What if I have doubts about the offer, am I committed to anything?

No, you are not committed to anything. The offer you receive is completely non-binding and you can decide not to sell at any time, without costs or obligations.

How do you protect my personal data?

Your data is stored encrypted and processed in accordance with GDPR legislation. We only share your information with the dealer purchasing your car, and never with other parties for marketing purposes.

What if claims arise on my car after the sale?

After the transfer, the dealer is fully responsible for the vehicle. You receive a written confirmation of the sale, which you can use to prove that ownership has been transferred.

Is it safe to hand my car over to an unknown dealer?

Absolutely. Every dealer in our network has been pre-screened and approved by AutoVeiligVerkopen. Furthermore, you receive payment before or at the moment the car is handed over, never afterwards.

When exactly will I receive the payment?

You receive payment at the moment of transfer or within 1 business day at the latest. The dealer pays via a secured bank transfer, so you always have proof of payment.

Can payment be made in cash?

No, at AutoVeiligVerkopen we only work with bank transfers. This is safer for both parties and ensures a fully traceable transaction.

What if the dealer wants to lower the amount at handover?

Accepted Answer

The dealer may only adjust the offer if the condition of the car clearly differs from what you stated. If you disagree with a reduction, you can cancel the sale free of charge.

What about VAT when selling my car?

Accepted Answer

As a private individual, you do not pay VAT on the sale of your car. Are you selling as a business owner? Then VAT may apply. We recommend consulting your accountant in that case.

Can I sell my car if I still have an outstanding loan on it?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can. We contact the financing company to settle the outstanding amount. The remaining amount is paid to you after deduction of the financing balance.

My car has been sitting idle for over a year, can I still sell it?

Yes, we also purchase idle cars. When requesting an offer, mention that the car has not been driven for an extended period so the dealer can take this into account for pickup.

Can I sell a car that is registered in someone else's name?

This is only possible with written authorization from the registered owner. The owner must provide a signed power of attorney and a copy of their identification document.

The process is similar to a private sale. Enter the license plate and indicate that it is a commercial vehicle. Please note that VAT obligations may apply.

My car has been declared a total loss, can I still offer it?

Yes, total loss vehicles can also be offered. The offer will be based on the residual value of the vehicle. Mention the total loss status in your request for a fair offer.

Can I also sell a car without a Dutch license plate?

Currently, we only purchase cars with a valid Dutch license plate. For vehicles with a foreign license plate, you can contact our customer service to discuss the options.
